Can I Recycle Plastic Bags?

Yes!  However, most municipalities won't take them with your traditional recyclables.  Common plastic bags that can be recycled include grocery bags, newspaper bags, bags from the dry cleaners, bread bags, produce bags, the plastic wrap packaging for toilet paper/napkins/paper towels, and Ziplocs (with the "zip" part snipped off).  Do not try to recycle Saran wrap, dark plastic bags, biodegradable bags, or bags that had prepackaged food in them such as frozen veggies or salad mix.

Often there are places to recycle plastic bags at local grocery stores. You can look up where to recycle them at PlasticBagRecycling.org's database.
